Early entry and exit signals can help traders lock in profits after riding a position that has trended for a while or provide a possible entry with a defined exit to manage risk. Those familiar with candlestick charts are used to the unique and sometimes funny names translated from Japanese where they originated many years ago. Above we see the New Zealand Dollar/ Japanese yen forex pair on a daily price chart. Also refered to as the Kiwi/ Yen, notice the nice downtrend and bottoming process where we see a potential reversal signal emerge called “The Hammer”. Its worth noting that its only a “good hammer” when it appears at the bottom of a previous downtrend.

Currency ETF Potential Short:British Pound Us Dollar Poised to Move Lower?

Taking a look at a daily chart of the currency etf which tracks the British Pound/US Dollar pair (Symbol:FXB) we can see that after a nice recent run up, the pair seems to have hit some upper resistance around the 1.65 level. We are also keeping an eye on the up trend line to see if price might produce a bearish violation and thus point to a potential short entry. While the Tradesurfer Indicator is currently showing a reading of 2, the slope and direction of the averages suggest a reading of 0 might not be too far off.
